The Osnabrück University offers every Semester a wide variety of courses in the field of Data Science. The specific orientation and focus of the course is in the hands of the responsible lecturer and of course also depends on the degree programme for which it is offered.
For example, the courses offered by Cognitive Science, Computer Science, Econometrics, Psychology, Social Research and working groups in the field of Data Science are generally more application-oriented, while the courses offered at the Institute of Mathematics tend to have a more theoretical focus.

Dieser Kurs gibt eine Einführung in das umfangreiche Themengebiet des maschinellen Lernens mit Fokus auf die Praxis. Kursinhalte werden sowohl die ML-Modelle wie lineare und logistische Regression, Bäume und Wälder, k-nächste Nachbarn, Support Vector Machine (SVM), naive Bayes, Clustering und neuronale Netze, als auch Ihre Vor- und Nachteile sein. Dabei werden Datenimport und -vorbereitung, Feature-Auswahl und Modellvalidierung auch behandeln. Die Codebeispiele basieren auf Python und den Bibliotheken Scikit-Learn, Matplotlib, Pandas, NumPy, Keras und TensorFlow. Am Ende des Kurses gibt es ein finales Projekt.
